Earn an eBadge at CCC

An eBadge is an award that demonstrates the holder’s knowledge and skills in different topics. eBadge opportunities at CCC are for all fields of study and for all learners and are earned by demonstrating proficiencies in both knowledge and applied skills. For CCC students, earned eBadges also appear on their co-curricular transcript and all learners can post the eBadge award on their resumes and social media networks, which could appeal to potential employers. The combination of eBadge proficiencies creates opportunities for learners to become change-agents for an environmentally sustainable future and can give earners a competitive edge in their field of study. CCC students, employees and those outside the college can choose among multiple options, including credit courses, community education courses and other experiences. Build your resume, advance your knowledge and skills and showcase your accomplishments by earning any of 4 CCC eBadges: Leadership in Environmental Stewardship, Symbiosis, or Problem Solving and Community Involvement.

Earning and signing-up for an e-badge is free, but costs may be associated with the learning experience(s) you choose. 

To earn an eBadge:

  1. Click each tab below to review the current eBadge options and review the proficiencies for each. Contact the eBadge proficiency sponsors of interest to you. 
  2. Sign-up for the eBadge on WebCentral. Contact the Environmental Sustainability Director (contact information below) if you have questions.
  3. Successfully complete one learning option in each of the proficiency areas required for the eBadge. 

Successfully complete all the required proficiencies for the eBadge before you graduate or depart from CCC.

Leadership in Environmental Stewardship

Environmental Stewardship ebadge logoCCC offers an eBadge in Leadership in Environmental Stewardship to demonstrate a students’ knowledge and skills in environmental stewardship for either their field of study or personal application. Earning the eBadge means successfully completing one learning option in each of eight proficiency areas. See each proficiency area below to review the available learning options. Classes may require extra projects or more emphasis on environmental sustainability topics.

Community Involvement

Some eBadge proficiencies can be achieved outside of regular coursework. Examples of the extracurricular activities are listed below, but students should contact the Environmental Sustainability Director to confirm which proficiencies an activity will fulfill.

Events

  • Volunteer at Leapfrog Village - Students will help plan and lead “play to learn” events at local childcare facilities for families and host on-campus activities for CCC students who are parents of young children to enhance their own CCC experience and allow them engagement time with their children. Participating students will gain hands-on professional development and relationship building experiences in childcare settings while engaging with children and their parents.
  • Pollinator garden workshop and tour September 24 in Grand Island and Hastings
  • Ord Pollinator garden planting day September 28
  • Tree Planting Day - CCC Hastings October 1
  • Nebraska Recycling Council Fall Conference
  • Nebraska Wind and Solar Conference

How to Register for the eBadge

  1. Click the image above to view all eBadge sections OR click the "Register for this eBadge" button under each eBadge description.
  2. These links will open a new window in Student Planner.
  3. If you are not already signed in to Student Planner, click the Sign In button in the upper-right corner of the page and enter your credentials.
  4. Click the "View Available Sections" drop-down under the eBadge you want to register for (do not click Add Course to Plan).
  5. Click the blue "Add Section to Schedule" button next to the course section.
  6. A pop-up window will appear, click the "Add Section" button to confirm.
  7. Click "Student Planning" in the upper-left corner of the page, and choose "Plan & Schedule" from the drop-down menu.
  8. The eBadge course will appear on the left side of your screen. Click the blue "Register" button below the section information.
  9. Shortly after registering, you will receive an email confirmation from the college registrar.
