Adult Education

Adult Education (AE) provides instruction to students who are 16 years or older and have either officially withdrawn from a Nebraska school or have completed home-schooling.

AE includes classes with qualified instructors and one-on-one tutoring by volunteers.

Central Community College provides AE classes and GED® testing under the supervision of the Nebraska Department of Education. Adult Education is supported at the local, state and national levels.

The program has these major components:

  • Adult Basic Education for people with less than eighth-grade skills.
  • English as a Second Language (ESL) for people who want to learn to speak, read and write English.
  • GED (General Educational Development) instruction for people who want to earn a Nebraska high school diploma.
